Now Is The Time For Invention & Re-Invention

The silver lining…

The pandemic has made most of us if not all of us reflect on our lives. Who we are, what is our purpose, what we want in life, what type of impact we want to make, and what types of changes we want to make….in all aspects. That my friends are the silver lining. Without watching a moving interview on Oprah, it has forced us to re-evaluate ourselves and what we truly want in life. I will admit, this can also be scary for some. It can sometimes put things into perspective that we don’t want to admit or face. But as they say, you have to get comfortable with the uncomfortable.

Write down your goals. Don’t put them in your iPhone in your ‘notepad’. Get the damn paper and pen to write down your goals. Writing has been proven to be more effective than putting it down somewhere in a digital form.

Neuroscience proves this in many studies. So does Harvard. The Harvard Business Study found out the following related to goal-setting:

  • Eighty-three percent of respondents had no goals.

  • Fourteen percent of respondents had plans but had not written them down. The study found that this group was ten times more likely to succeed than those without any goals.

  • Three percent of respondents had written down their goals. They were three times more likely to succeed than the group who had some plan in mind.”

How do we become gain momentum post-pandemic

The pandemic has knocked the wind out of us personally as well as in business. So many are afraid of starting a business or continuing their business with the fear of failure. Understandably so.

So the question is, how do we find the ‘umf’ that we need to get back in the saddle or just get on the horse in the first place?

Strategy.

The pandemic initiated fear, doubt, angst and concern. But on the flip side, it also gave us a rude reality check in many, many, many different ways. In our personal lives as well as in our business lives.

Remember that reflection I was talking about…well now use those goals that you are going to WRITE down and utilize your emotions to help fuel and drive those goals to come to fruition!

Also, educate yourself. Educate and do as much personal development as possible. I know, I know - cliché…but it’s true (and when I saw educate, I don’t mean everyone has to enrol in a university. There are thousands of courses paid or not online that you can take). Look at the millionaires of the world and what they say about personal development specifically. Richard Branson, Arianna Huffington, Tony Robbins, and Sarah Blakely…just to name a few.

So, with that being said…this is just one girl speaking to the masses but these are the things that have and am continuing to implement simply because I took that cliché article I once read, did the homework and have seen nothing but results. It’s not all smooth sailing, but it’s worth the trip!
